At 100,000mi the piston rod bearings failed. We have kept up with oil changes, etc. so this is very strange. It seems to be a common problem with Hyundai GDi engines, but our engine (1.6L Non-turbo) is not part of the massive recall/lawsuit for this exact issue on 2.0L cars. Drinks oil like it's going out of business. car does not leak nor can of make it from one change to the other. i know my jeep had a recall for the same kind of issue and they offered to fix the problem free of charge. don't see why hyundai can't find the issue and do the same for there customers. a motor that Drinks that much oil is not a good nor safe thing when driving on the road.
