Summary: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Ram 1500 vehicles. The driver's side air bag may not be connected properly, which can cause the air bag not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Consequence: A driver's side air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.

Consequence: Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system can increase the risk of a crash.

The side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator, or the inflator sidewall may rupture.

Consequence: A separated inflator end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the end cap or other components being propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Rear power sliding window leak caused by cracked backlite

Vehicle has sweet smell of coolant/antifreeze in the cab regularly. Appears to be a heater core leak. This is a safety issue due to potential engine failure and inhaling toxic chemical odors in the cab.

Our 2019 Ram 1500 has less than 40,000 miles but now diagnosed with Internal Failure in ABS Module and Hydraulic control. While traveling at a high rate of speed, the power steering light came on, and the steering wheel locked up and became almost impossible to turn. After pulling over and turning the vehicle off, the problem went away. But only to have the problem happen again, twice more creating unsafe driving conditions.
